Irina Bernstein
Irina deals with a wide range of contentious and non-contentious employment law issues, for both employer and employee. In all her work Irina takes a practical commercial approach.
Irina recognises the need to resolve contentious matters in a cost effective manner and as swiftly as possible. For employers, Irina takes the view that early advice and training on procedures and policies, accompanied by robust sound documents, can prevent a matter getting to court and enable swift resolution. For employees, Irina again seeks swift resolution, with the best overall settlement for the client in financial terms, always bearing in mind the need to reduce or remove any covenants that apply after termination.
In non-contentious matters Irina is well versed in the preparation and implementation of all employment related documents and employee benefits, from hire, through employment to termination, including employment contracts, staff handbooks, remuneration packages and benefits, contractors’ agreements, and policies (for example disciplinary, grievance, harassment, redundancy, flexi-working, maternity and paternity rights).
Irina is of Ukrainian origin and is fluent in Russian, Ukrainian and German. In her spare time, Irina can be found wandering around art galleries, listening to music and trying out as many of London’s great restaurants as she can. A perfect evening in involves watching Masterchef or the Klitschko brothers win yet another World Championship fight on TV.
